What’s The Deal With This Site?
Who thought we’d be doing archeology on Virtual Reality? It’s been almost 25 years (maybe more…) since VR hit the media and sparked the imagination of millions. So much promised, but often not delivered. To call it a “fad” or a “craze” is far too simple. For those of us who were there, VR was a giant wave that swept over us in the late 80’s and early 90’s, and left quite a bit of wreckage behind as the tide receded.For a while there VR’s promise and growth went hand in hand with the explosion of interest and usage of the internet. The dot.com bubble and subsequent burst notwithstanding, the internet became ubiquitous, but immersive VR did not.
